Daniel "DJ" Jesus Serda

Daniel Jesus “DJ” Serda passed away October 31, 2023. He was 34.

DJ was born October 1, 1989 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Annette (Garza) and Daniel Serda.

He was a resident of Odem, Texas most of his life and a graduate of Odem High School. DJ was currently employed as the Manager of Southern Tire Mart in Carneys Point Township, New Jersey. He was a loving son, a doting Uncle and a friend to many. DJ had a contagious smile, a welcoming personality and a huge, giving heart. DJ will always live in our hearts, and will always be a part of us. His short life on this earth made a difference to everyone who has ever met him. Heaven has gained an angel, and we are comforted knowing our beloved DJ is at rest with the grandparents he so dearly loved.

Preceding in death are his maternal grandparents: Alonzo and Anita Garza; and paternal grandparents: David and Angelita Serda.

Survivors include his parents: Daniel and Annette Serda; sister: Brianna Serda (David Villalobos); the niece he adored: Ava Annette Serda; nephews: Dustin Anthony and Easton Daniel Villalobos, all from Odem, Texas; uncles: Alonzo Garza, Jr. from Corpus Christi, Texas; Abel Garza (Belinda) from Kingsville, Texas; aunts: April Garza-Sprigman from New York; Esmeralda Serda from Ingleside, Texas; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will begin Thursday, November 9, 2023, 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 10, 2023, 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church in Odem with Fr. Pete Elizardo as celebrant. Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery, Odem.

Pallbearers will be Alonzo Garza III, Alex Garza, Austin Hernandez, Dillon Hernandez, AJ Garza, Adrian Garza, Gabriel Ramirez and Patrick Ramirez.
