Ingleside – David Jerome Cosper passed away on March 25, 2023. He was 71. David was born in Dalhart, Texas on August 9, 1951 to David Pierce Cosper, Jr and Clara Madella Cosper. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Jerry, as he was known by his family and friends, grew up on a farm in the Texas panhandle where he had fond memories of learning to drive a truck at 8 years old. During his adolescence his parents moved around between Texas, California, Kansas, and Oklahoma. However, he eventually settled in South Texas in the 1970’s where he lived until his death. While he had many jobs throughout his life, such as working in a refinery, construction on the Pompano oil rig, and driving 18 wheeler trucks for Jackson Seafood, Gulf King and PJ Shrimp; he will especially be remembered for being a talented carpenter. He worked building and remodeling homes, cabinets, bookshelves, jewelry boxes, and so much more. Jerry was known for his sense of humor and was always telling jokes and trying to make people laugh. While he enjoyed camping and fishing, he mostly liked just watching TV, old movies, westerns, or educational nature. His biggest passion was spending time anywhere with the love of his life of 42 years. Most importantly he loved Jehovah God and tried to live by the Bible’s standards. He will be dearly missed.
