David Ray Headley of Portland, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021. He was 74 years old.
He was born on August 5, 1947, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
David proudly served his country for more than 20 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. Even after his military retirement, he found a career as an artifact analyst working in identifying and bringing home MIA/POW soldiers. David then followed his passion and started his own business in aircraft maintenance called Mako Mobile Aircraft Services. He was also past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2249 and Past President of the EAA Chapter 191.
David loved his family. He lived his life with great integrity and had the kind of smile that made others happy. David is loved by many who will remember his kindheartedness, strength, dependability, and the great hugs he gave. David was a large part of his family and friend’s lives, saying he will be missed is an understatement.
David is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Bonnie Headley; their three children: son Bryan Headley and daughters Samantha (Magnum) Dampier and Alison (Kelly) Maiden; his grandchildren: Braxton and Brinley Dampier, and Lauren Maiden; his sister Mary Hixson (Darren); and many nieces and nephews.
