David V. Martinez

Sinton – David V. Martinez passed away December 23, 2021. He was 80.

David was born June 4, 1941 to Francisco and Francisca (Vasquez) Martinez. He was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas but did spend some time in California. David was a proud United States Army Veteran. He worked as the custodian manager for San Patricio County, he also worked as the maintenance supervisor for Gregory Portland ISD and was a registered locksmith. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Francisco and Francisca Martinez; sisters: Maria Torres and Amelia Martinez; brothers: Pepe Martinez, Jose Martinez and Ricardo Martinez.

Survivors include his loving wife: Marcelina C. Martinez from Sinton, Texas; sons; Daniel Martinez and David Esquivel both from Sinton, Texas: daughter; Diana McKinney from New York: grandchildren: David Esquivel, III, Rolando Barrera, Desiree Aguilar, Ronnie Aguilar, Danielle Martinez, Nate Martinez and Roman Guajardo; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers: Refugio Martinez, Jesus “Chuy” Martinez, Alfredo Martinez and Valdemar Martinez; sisters: Alicia Rivas from Sinton, Texas, Senaida Ramirez and Antonia Diaz.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 11:00 AM-9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be held the same evening at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held December 30, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sinton. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
