David Acosta Rivera, Jr.

Corpus Christi – David Acosta Rivera, Jr. passed away September 5, 2023. He was 44.

David was born on March 4, 1979 in Taft, Texas to San Juanita (Herrera) and David Acosta Rivera. He was a resident of Taft most of his life, but recently lived in Corpus Christi for a few years. David was employed with Peachtree Apartment Complex as their site maintenance personnel and was formerly employed with Brand as a sandblaster/painter.

He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his son: David Urrutia Rivera; mother: San Juanita Rivera.

Survivors include his wife: Mari Urrutia from Corpus Christi, Texas;

father: David Acosta Rivera, Sr. (Mary Lou) from Sinton, Texas; son: Brandon Rivera from San Antonio, Texas; sisters: Viola R. Trevino (Rudy), Diane R. Rodriguez (Steve) all from Taft, Texas; Carmel Herrera-Ortiz (Pablo) from Corpus Christi, Texas and Monica Garcia (David) from St. Paul, Texas; brother: Bobby Herrera (Elvia) from Sinton, Texas; father-in-law: JoaQuin Urrutia from San Diego, Texas; nieces and nephews: Ashley Trevino Cruz, Ryan Trevino, Casey Sedas and Alaric Rivera; numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will begin Monday, September 11, 2023, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 12, 2023, 12:30 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sinton, Texas. Burial will follow in Lamas Cemetery, Taft.
