Aransas Pass – Dominga Lee passed away on August 7, 2024. She was 72.

Dominga was born in Aransas Pass, Texas on September 9, 1951 to Pauline (Rodriguez) and Leon Alvarado. She was an amazing baker and loved to spend quality time with her family. Dominga also enjoyed attending church at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Dominga is preceded in death by her spouse: Rock Newby; parents: Leon and Pauline Alvarado; and brother: Richard Alvarado.

Survivors include her sons: Gilbert Lee (Florinda) from Portland, Texas and Rock Newby (Alyssa) from Ingleside, Texas; grandchildren: Audrey Lee (Minesh), Jarek Lee and Irelyn Lee, all from Corpus Christi, Texas; Jadon Garcia, Alyssa Garcia, Kaleb Ponce, Makayla Ponce and Chuy Vega, all from Portland, Texas; Mila Newby, Melody Newby and Rock Newby III, all from Ingleside, Texas; great-grandchild: Priya Patel from Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers: Leon Alvarado, Jr. (Juana) from Ingleside, Texas; Genaro Alvarado (Teodora) from Aransas Pass, Texas; Vince Alvarado (Rosie) from Ingleside, Texas; George Alvarado (Fela) from Aransas Pass, Texas; Paul Alvarado (Terry) from Ingleside, Texas; Juan Alvarado (Sylvia) from Sulfur, Louisiana; Raymond Alvarado (Debbie) and Tomas Alvarado (Sarah), all from Aransas Pass, Texas; Jesus Alvarado (Jessica) from Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters: Pauline Moreno (+Jesse) from Corpus Christi, Texas; Angie Alvarado and Virginia Ortiz (+Chon), all from Aransas Pass, Texas; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will begin Monday, August 12, 2024, 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 13, 2024, 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea. Burial will follow in Prairie View Cemetery, Aransas Pass.

Pallbearers will be Vince Alvarado, Jr., Rocky Alvarado, Jason Alvarado, Michael Alvarado, Benny Lopez, Fred Moreno and Raymond Alvarado, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Alvarado and Edward Alvarado.
