Donald Glenn McFarland (b. November 17, 1943) passed away at his home in Sinton, Tx on Wednesday morning, May 4th, 2022.
Don was born in Flag Lake, Tx and spent most of his childhood growing up in Freer, Tx raised by E.J. and Ruby McFarland, alongside older sister, Janelle, and older brother Dale.
Don was a second-generation Texaco employee working oil and gas sites throughout South Texas where he began employment as a roustabout. Soon after, Don elected to pursue an education at Texas A&I where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After graduating, Don returned to Texaco as an Operations Foreman, working his way up to Operations Superintendent then Regional Safety Manager prior to retiring in January of 1999 after 35 years of service at the age of 55.
While working sites near Zapata, Don met his wife and lifetime partner of nearly 56 years, Kathy Faye Wolfe. They wed on October 1, 1966; after which Don was enlisted to serve the country’s armed services. Don served the U.S. Army in Anchorage, Alaska from November 1966 to November 1968.
Don’s passing is preceded by his loss of parents E.J. ‘Mac’ McFarland, Ruby Buck, sister Janelle Gibbons, brother Dale McFarland and grandson Gavin McFarland. He is survived by wife Kathy, sons Eric (wife Lin Anne) and Gabe (wife Emilee), grandchildren Aubrey, Casen, Emma, Libby and most recently (great granddaughter) Everly.
Don will be remembered for his love of family, the outdoors (hunting, fishing, and four wheeling the mountains of Colorado), country music, dancehalls, co-workers and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022, 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. Burial will follow in Sinton Cemetery, Sinton.
