Donato "Don" Soto

Edroy – Donato “Don” Soto passed away peacefully July 12, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was 66.

Don was born February 22, 1952 in Sinton, Texas to Manuela (Quintero) and Sixto Soto.

He was a resident of Edroy most of his life. Don was a retired Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service in Corpus Christi. He enjoyed the outdoors, tended to his beloved dogs and horses, and had a passion for life and motorcycles. Don had a warm spirit and infectious smile that made you feel welcomed. He was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother to many siblings who will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death is his father: Sixto Soto; and his best friend: Mary Perez.

Survivors include a son: Donato Soto, Jr. from Round Rock, Texas; daughters: Donna Soto and Patricia Estrada (Steve), all from Austin, Texas; 3 grandchildren: Ivanna Soto, Steve Eloy Estrada and Ryan James Estrada; his mother: Manuela Soto from Odem, Texas; 7 brothers: Ruben Soto (Amparo) from Odem, Texas; Noe Soto (Rosie) from Dallas, Texas; Oscar Soto (Eva) from Amarillo, Texas; Baldemar Soto (Isabel) from Austin, Texas; Henry Ricky Soto (Veronica) from Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Daniel Soto (Hilda) from Kyle, Texas; sisters: Gloria Gutierrez (Alan) from Mathis, Texas; and Yolanda Soto (Bobby Palacios) from Cedar Park, Texas.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018, 3:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A holy rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 16, 2018, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Odem, Texas with Father Isaias Estepa as celebrant. Burial will follow in Edroy Cemetery, Edroy.
