Dora L. Norden, age 94, of Rock, Michigan passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, June 2, 2025 at her home.
Dora was born on December 19, 1930 in Sinton, Texas to John and Eulalia "Lala" (Mesa) Cantu. She was one of 13 children. Dora was united in marriage to Lee Norden on June 30, 1956, in Mundelein, Illinois. Together they shared many wonderful years until Lee's passing in 2010. Lee and Dora had 7 children, and Dora was a proud stay at home mom. She taught CCD for 32 years at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins. She enjoyed sewing and reading. Above all else, Dora cherished time spent with her grandchildren and family. She will be dearly missed.
Dora is survived by her children Mark Norden, James Norden, Paul Norden, Brian Norden, Carol (Keith) Mortensen, Shellie Norden, and Deborah (Joe) Blanchard; grandchildren Melissa Mummer, Kelsey (Victor) Silva, Zachary Mortensen, Jake Mortensen, Scott Norden, Brittany Blanchard, and Jack Blanchard; four great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dora is preceded in death by her loving husband Lee; parents John and Lala Cantu; as well as 12 brothers and sisters.
Family will receive friends on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A closing prayer will conclude visitation at 5:00 PM. Dora will be laid to rest in Rock Cemetery, Rock, Michigan.
