Aransas Pass – Dorothy Nell McCartney passed away on June 9, 2024. She was 88.

Dorothy was born on April 15, 1936 to Jewel and Homer Carroll in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was currently residing in Goliad but was a former resident of Aransas Pass. Dorothy loved fishing with her grandsons and dancing with her granddaughters. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her spouse: Charles L. McCartney; daughter: Donna Farrar; parents: Homer and Jewel Carroll; siblings: Frances Reynolds, Homer Carroll and John Carroll.

Survivors include her children: Charles McCartney from Rockdale, Texas and Danny Jackson from Rockport, Texas; daughter: Laurie Hajdik from Goliad, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sister: Patricia Abel from Houston, Texas.

The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 9:00 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass. The family will receive guests prior to the service. A Graveside Service will follow, 11:00 AM at the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Corpus Christi.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
