Edward "Popey" G. Baisa, Jr.

Papalote – Edward G Baisa Jr. "Popey", 76 of Papalote, Texas took his last breath November 13, 2022 at 11:40pm with his daughter by his side. He is now at rest with his son. 

Edward affectionately known as Popey was born March 20, 1946 in Wharton County. 

Daddy had a heart of gold. He would be your biggest fan rooting for you his whole life. He never met a stranger. If he knew you had troubles he would check on you until you were better. He was loyal, honest and the best person you could ever have the privilege to know. He was passionate about his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved to be at the ranch and help when he could. He loved to sit by the pond and watch his compadre fish. He would drink his beer and smoke his cigs. Dad was a resident of Waco, Texas for over 40 years and spent most of his time at the Glass plant until his retirement. He relocated with us until he took his last breath. Daddy battled Stage 4 lung cancer with such grace and dignity. You never knew if he was hurting or not. Daddy knew it was time to go home. He was so brave and fought till the end. 

He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Minnie Baisa; his son: Edward Baisa, III; great-granddaughter: Stella Rose Morales; sisters: Pauline Saucedo and Becki Cooke.

He is survived by his daughter: Mona Garza; son in law: Lee Garza of Papalote, Texas; grandkids: Rebecca Garza ( Jose) of Waco, Alieanna Garza of Papalote, Texas, Ryan Malbrough (kimberly), Alyssa Baisa of Waco, Eddy Baisa of Round Rock, Domingo Martinez of Corpus Christi, Preciosa Caldera of Waco, and Andres Morales of Corpus Christi and his great-grandkids; sisters: Anita Jimenez of Waco, Linda Baisa of El Campo; brother: Steve Baisa from Ben Wheeler, Tom Baisa from El Campo, Henry Baisa from El Campo , Frank Baisa from Waco; Compadre: Leo Garza of Papalote. 

Visitation will begin Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Funeral Service will be held the same day Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 5:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. Burial will be private.
