Elma DeLeon, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the age of 78.

Elma was born on May 31, 1948, in Sinton, Texas, to Manuel and Blasa DeLeon. She was a loving and caring woman whose greatest joy was her family. She loved bringing everyone together for family gatherings, where her warmth, laughter, and wonderful cooking made every occasion special. Her home and her heart were always open to those she loved.

Elma was a devoted and supportive person who cared deeply for her family and the people around her. She spent more than 35 years working at Tasty Taco, where she dedicated herself to her work and became a familiar and valued part of the community. Her kindness, strength, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Edward Cavazos; her parents, Manuel and Blasa DeLeon; her sisters, Ofelia DeLeon Smith and Mary DeLeon Thomas; her brother, Edward DeLeon; and her stepson, John Paul Cavazos.

Left to cherish her memory are her stepsons, Joe Edward Cavazos of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Donald Cavazos of Lathrop, California; stepdaughter, Cindi Cavazos Arriola of Sinton, Texas; grandchildren, Crystal Cavazos Snyder, Joe Cavazos Jr., Donovan Cavazos, Amanda Cavazos, Justin Buentello, Andy Wilson, Joseph Wilson, and Vanna Wilson; brothers, Manuel DeLeon Jr. of Sinton, Texas, and Rey DeLeon of Taft, Texas; and sisters, Loisa DeLeon Moreno of Houston, Texas, and Helen DeLeon Gonzalez of Sinton, Texas.

Though Elma is no longer with us, her love, kindness, and the memories she created with her family will remain in their hearts forever. Her family will always remember the warmth she brought to their lives, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the special moments she made possible simply by bringing everyone together. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the family she cherished so dearly.
