Enrique G. Gonzales, 81, of Sinton, Texas, passed away on August 8, 2026

Enrique was born on October 14, 1944, in Sinton, Texas, to Daniel Gonzales and Cleofas (Gomez) Gonzales. A lifelong resident of Sinton, Enrique was a devoted family man and a proud United States Army veteran. He dedicated many years of his life to farming and worked hard to provide for those he loved. He also loved to play his accordion. 

Above all, Enrique will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and patriot. His love for his family, his strong work ethic, and his devotion to his country will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Enrique was preceded in death by his twins, Daniel Gonzales and Zenaida Gonzales; granddaughter, Chelsea Santellana; great-granddaughter, Ariella Santellana-Sanchez; parents, Daniel and Cleofas Gonzales; brothers, Daniel Gonzales Jr., Leonardo Gonzales Sr., Rafael Gonzales Sr., and Benigno Gonzales; and sisters, Anita Rodriguez and Margarita Cardenes.

Left to cherish Enrique’s memory is his beloved wife of almost 55 years, Venina Gonzales of Sinton, Texas; his children, Mary Linda Gonzales (Roland) of Taft, Texas; Amanda Aguirre of Corpus Christi, Texas; Cindy Aguirre (Heidi Bell) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Michael H. Aguirre of Beaumont, Texas; Sandra K. Gonzales (Erasmo Gutierrez) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Donna Longoria (Isaias) of Sinton, Texas; and Eric Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas.

Enrique is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Virginia Cazares, Maria Jasso (Joe), and Jovita Lopez, all of Sinton, Texas, and Ofelia Morales of Victoria, Texas; as well as many extended family members and loved ones who will deeply miss him.

Enrique leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, hard work, devotion, and service. His greatest joy was his family, and his memory will live on through the many generations he loved, supported, and provided for throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of his family and all those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The family will receive guests 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton.

A Prayer Service will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Sandra Moreno officiating. A Rites of Christian Service will be held Thursday, August 20, 2026, 8:30 AM with Deacon Art Provencio officiating. A Graveside Service will be Thursday, August 20, 2026, 10:00 AM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
