Taft – Enrique Perez Mireles passed away on October 4, 2024. He was 84.

Enrique was born on May 3, 1940 in Taft, Texas to Clementina (Perez) and Victor Mireles. He lived in Taft most of his life prior to living in Wharton and El Campo. Enrique worked for HEB for 20 years before retiring. He was also a proud Veteran of the United States Army.  Enrique will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Enrique is preceded in death by his parents: Clementina and Cristoval Rodriguez; brother: Ruben Rodriguez.

Enrique is survived by his wife: Mary Mireles from Taft, Texas; sons: Henry P. Mireles, Jr from Taft, Texas; Vidal T. Mireles (Luz Maria) San Antonio, Texas; Jacob Mireles (Marlene) from O’Fallon, Illinois; daughters: Guadalupe Smith from Satellite Beach, Florida; and Veronica Salinas (Adrian) from Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers: Vidal Mireles (Adelfa) from Wharton, Texas; Chris Rodriguez (Maria Elena) from San Antonio, Texas; sisters: Mary Moreno (David Aranda) and Gracie Moreno (Jesse), both from Taft, Texas; and numerous extended family members.  

Visitation will begin Thursday, October 10, 2024, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Taft. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM at the church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 11, 2024, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Palms Memorial Cemetery, Portland.
