Erminia B. Chavez

Rockport - Erminia B. Chavez passed away peacefully June 3, 2024 with her loving family at her side. She was 72.

Erminia was born April 7, 1952 in Rockport, Texas to Celia (Benavides) and Nasario R. Benavidez. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Erminia is preceded in death by her parents: Celia and Nasario; brother: Nasario Benavidez, Jr.

Survivors include her loving husband: Fernando Chavez, Sr.: sons: Leonard Pena (Sandra) from Aransas Pass, Texas and Michael Pena (Joy) from San Antonio, Texas; daughters: Melissa Ann Garcia (Joe) from Lubbock, Texas, Melinda P. Harvey from Waxahachie, Texas, Melody Pena from San Antonio, Texas and Erminia John (Scott) from Corpus Christi, Texas; 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren brother: Roland R. Benavides from Robstown, Texas; sisters: Adilina Benavidez, Mary B. Tagle and Rosalie B. Barrios.      

Visitation will begin Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass. The family will receive guests beginning at 2:00 PM.  The Funeral Service will be held the same day, 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
