Escolastico “Nick” Sanchez, 75, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026 at his home in Edroy, Texas.

Nick was born November 28, 1950 in Harlingen, Texas. He was the beloved son of Berta (Chavez) and Escolastico “E.C.” Sanchez.

Nick spent his early years in Burley, Idaho before settling in Edroy, Texas where he and his treasured wife, Ida, built a warm and loving home. A proud Veteran of the Vietnam era and a Purple Heart recipient, Nick lived with deep patriotism and unwavering devotion to God, family and country. He was honorable, humble, and steadfast—qualities that shaped every part of his life.

Above all, Nick was a devoted family man. He was the best husband, father, brother, and son—always ensuring that those he loved were cared for, supported and protected. His generosity, strength and quiet leadership created a legacy that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

Nick is preceded in death by his parents, E.C. and Berta Sanchez; his brother, Robert Sanchez; and his sister, Victoria Salinas.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Ida Dominguez Sanchez from Edroy, Texas; his sons, Arthur Sanchez from Robstown, Texas; Ricky Sanchez (Rebecca) from Sinton, Texas; and Jeremy Sanchez from Cypress, Texas; his daughter, Delma Sanchez (Larry) from Round Rock, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great‑grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Frances Martinez (Alex) from Burley, Idaho; Suzie Fuentes (Joe) from Kuna, Idaho; Rose Doty (Kurt) from Meridian, Idaho; and Freddy Sanchez and Jessie Sanchez, both from Caldwell, Idaho; along with many extended family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Visitation will begin Monday, June 22, 2026 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton. Family will receive guests beginning at 12 noon to 9:00 PM. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:30 PM at the funeral home. A Rites of Christian Service will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026, 12:00 PM at the funeral home. The Graveside Service will follow, 2:00 PM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
