Estelle E. Havelka

Sinton – Estelle E. Havelka passed away December 27, 2018. She was 90.

Estelle was born June 9, 1928 in Robstown, Texas to Pete and Albina (Marek) Vanecek. 

Estelle was a lifelong resident of Sinton where she graduated Sinton High School. She was an active member of the community. Estelle was a member at Sacred Heart Church; the Sinton Garden Club; Pioneer Womens Club; and Past President of KJZT Insurance. She loved playing Bunko with her friends, sewing and quilting. She was an accomplished cook, enjoyed baking cakes and had an infectious grin. Estelle was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceeding in death is her husband, Joseph H. Havelka; daughter, Janet Priolo; father, Pete Vanecek; and sister, Ruth Valenta.

Survivors include her sons: Joe “Sonny” Havelka (Jan) of Calallen, Texas and Steve Havelka (Cindi) of Stockdale, Texas; daughter: Judy Chance (Mickey) of Austin, Texas; grandchildren: Joe Joe Havelka, Justin Havelka, Elizabeth Franks and Sarah Mourer; brother: Peter Vanecek (Margaret) of College Station, Texas; sister: Marilyn Chevalier of College Station, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The family will receive guests from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Holy Rosary will be held the same evening, 6:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 3, 2019, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Sinton. Burial will follow in Sinton Cemetery, Sinton.
