Evelyn Francis Boughton

Rockport – Evelyn Francis Boughton, 99, went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2023. She was on June 18, 1923 to Innis Robottom and Agnes (Michaels) Robottom in Oak Park, Illinois. She spent most of her life in Beaumont, Texas where she had many friends.  She attended St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church where she had been a choir member and also a member of the Daughter’s of the King. She later moved to San Leon, Texas and then to Rockport, Texas. Evelyn married James K. Boughton on February 10, 1945. 

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Affectionally called “Gram” and “Gigi”.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and fashion.  Even dressing up at the nursing home with her jewelry.  Evelyn also had a love for animals, especially her Pomeranians.

Preceding in death by her husband: James K. Boughton; daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Gary Martin; son: Jeffrey Boughton.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter: Susan (Tommy) Allen from Rockport, Texas; son: Steven Boughton from Forney, Texas; grandchildren: Courtney (Les) Casterline, David (Shelley) Barbay all from Corpus Christi, Texas; Thomas (Jessica) Barbay from La Plata, Maryland, Gregory (Nina) Boughton from Denton, Texas, Christopher Boughton and Julie Boughton Overman both from Plano, Texas; James (Maryilyn) Black from Kountze, Texas; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses and aides at Gulfpoint Plaza Nursing Home in Rockport, Texas for their care and dedication. Also, a thank you to Harbor Hospice
