Florinda "Flora" Escamilla passed away on March 7, 2025.  She was 79.

Flora was born in Sinton, Texas, on November 7, 1945.  She was a lifelong resident of Sinton until 2022 when she moved to Birchwood of Beeville, in Beeville Texas.

Preceding her in death: her parents, Guadalupe Escamilla and Paula Ponce Escamilla, a sister: Ernestina Gonzales of Garland, Texas, and brother: Miguel Escamilla of Sinton, Texas

Survivors include: Sisters: Celestina Melendez (the late Francisco Melendez) of Sinton Texas, Juanita Borjas (Jose Borjas) of Beeville Texas, Connie Gonzales (the late Ray Gonzales) of Beeville Texas and cherished as a sister, Janie Martinez (Alvino Martinez) from Burley, Idaho and numerous nephews and nieces from Texas and surrounding states.

Forever a child at heart, Flora enjoyed the simple things in life, coloring books, puzzles, stuffed animals, dolls, hula hoops, trips to Walmart, the excitement of celebrating holidays such as Christmas or Easter and playing her tambourine at church.

Flora never met a stranger and remembered everyone she knew either by name or the nick name she gave you.

Flora was fun-loving, kind and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Although Flora never had children of her own, she was a mother figure to many of her nephews and nieces throughout her lifetime. Flora will be greatly missed by her family.

The family of Florinda Escamilla would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Birchwood of Beeville and New Century Hospice for their care of Flora.

Visitation will begin Sunday, March 16, 2025, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. A prayer service will be held the same evening, 6:00 PM at the funeral home. A Chapel Service will be Monday, March 17, 2025, 10:00 AM at the funeral home with burial following in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
