Odem- Frances Nell Sipes Barlow, 88, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026 leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and will miss her beyond words.

Frances was born on September 12, 1937 in Odem, Texas to Lottie (Stein) and Herbert “Tuffy” Sipes.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents: Lottie and Herbert “Tuffy” Sipes; son: Glenn Barlow; and daughter: Susie Van Winkle.

Frances leaves behind a legacy of love in her husband of 67 years, Robert “Scooter” Barlow from Odem, Texas; granddaughters: Mikaela Barlow, Deedra Van Winkle, and Hannah Barlow; grandson: Bryant Van Winkle; sister: Lydia Sipes (Anthony); daughter-in-law: Heather Arnold; and son-in-law: Damian Van Winkle. Frances was employed by Odem-Edroy ISD for 53 years. She was a dedicated Admistrative Assistant to the Superintendent. It was through her devotion to the school's system and the students she encountered that made a lasting impression on the lives of so many. Frances' admiration for family and friends will live on forever. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 30 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, Odem. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sinton Cemetery, Sinton.
