Frank Evain Brandenburg Obituary
Frank Evain Brandenburg passed away on September 26, 2026. He was 82.
Frankie, as he was known affectionately by family and friends, was born on July 1, 1944 in Sinton, Texas to Lillian (Whitehead) and Frank Evian Brandenburg Sr.
Frankie was the kind of man who left an impression wherever he went. To say that Frankie was a great man is not simply something people who say because he is gone – they say it because anyone who had the privilege of knowing him knew it was true. He had a gift for laughter and his laugh, his stories and his larger-than-life personality had a way of filling a room. His presence was impossible to overlook, and his warmth and humor left an impression on every one fortunate to know him. Frankie was always on the go. His day started early, and there was always somewhere to go, or something to check on. He always had an eye on everyone and everything. He could often be found cruising around town, especially after a rainfall. Frankie had a way of being in-the-know; and if something was going on, chances were, Frankie already knew about it. He enjoyed his times at “the ranch”, whether simply passing through, tossing a line in the water or feeding the ducks. Many weekends found him on the road, traveling to spend time with his grandchildren. No matter where he was or what he was doing, Frankie found a way to stay busy. Frankie was a staple in the community. He was known for his leadership, and as the “Big Boss” at H&K Vacuum Trucks.
Frankie is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael Doria; sisters-in-law, Rowena Brandenburg, Maria Espinoza and Olga Garza; brothers-in-law, Augustine Garza and Jessie Garza; and his best friend Delmus Hesseltine.
Frankie is survived by his loving wife, Maria Brandenburg from Sinton, Texas; children, David Brandenburg, Sr. from Sinton, Texas; Carol B. Pardo (Adrian) and Margaret Doria, all from Sinton, Texas; Erica Cancino from Lewisville, Texas; Kevin Cancino from Princeton, Texas; grandchildren: Ryan Brandenburg (Heather), David Brandenburg, Jr. (Daniella), Josiyah Cancino, Leslie Doria, Bethany Doria (Devyn), Christian Reyes (Moses); great-grandsons: David “Tres” Brandenburg and Romeo Reyes; brother: Sidney J.
