Frank Oelschlegel, Jr.

Edroy – Frank Oelschlegel, Jr. made his journey home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2020. He was 92.

Frank was born on October 5, 1927 in Sinton, Texas to Frank and Minnie  Oelschlegel. He farmed his land more than 75 years and married Virginia. They were married 62 years. Together, Frank and “Gigi” raised their children and taught them the values of God and family. Frank was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Odem and a Sunday School Teacher for 60 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Frank goes home to be reunited with his wife, Virginia; parents: Frank and Minnie Oelschlegel; and siblings: Milton, Ervin, Margaret and Gilbert Oelschlegel.

Left to cherish his memories are a son: David Oelschlegel (Tami) of Albuquerque , New Mexico;  daughters: Suzie Oelschlegel of Irving, Texas and Nancy Carriger (Bill) of Skidmore, Texas; grandchildren: Marsha Caswell (Rob), Sherry Reser (Pat), Ross Janota (Crystal), Rusty Janota (Stacey) and Kate Heyser (Rick); 4 Carriger grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchldren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The family will receive guests from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be Monday, January 20, 2020, 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Odem with Pastor Willis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Odem.

Pallbearers will be Joe Oelschlegel, Ross Janota, Rusty Janota, Rick Heyser, Quinton Janota and Pat Reser.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Odem.
