Taft- Gabriel Manuel Avalos passed away on March 14, 2021. He was 40.

Gabriel was born in Taft, Texas on April 29, 1980 to Petra Castaneda and Manuel Avalos, Jr. He was a Laborer for Bechtel. Gabriel was a resident of Taft, Texas for the last 2 years and formerly resided in San Antonio, Texas. He was a loving father, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death are his maternal grandparents: Olivia and Ynocente Castaneda; paternal grandparents: Manuel and Eugenia Avalos.

Survivors include his sons: Justin Avalos and Lorenzo Avalos both of San Antonio, Texas; daughters: Anabelle Avalos and Gabriella Avalos both of San Antonio, Texas; mother: Petra Avalos (Noe Maldonado) of San Antonio, Texas; father: Manuel Avalos, Jr. of Sinton, Texas; sisters: Betsy Avalos (Rick) of Taft, Texas and Michelle Avalos of San Antonio, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin on Friday, March 19, 2021, 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 20, 2021, 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft. Burial will be private.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anissa Avalos and Tristan Plata. Pallbearers will be Sal Gonzalez, BJ Longoria, Alfredo Castaneda, Mando Diaz, Paul Cantu, Javier Acosta and Tina Herrera.
