Rockport – Gerrit Mitchell Albers passed away on February 3, 2025. He was 70.


Gerrit was born December 7, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas to Shirley Jean (Coeel) and Robert Henry Albers. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle, cousin and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.


Survivors include his stepmother: Lanelle Albers from San Antonio, Texas; brother: Jim McGinnes (Alice) from San Antonio, Texas; sister: Kathy Coleman from Balch Spring, Texas; nieces: Dawn Brewster and Brandi Bailey (Kevin) all from Mesquite, Texas, and Christina McGinnes from San Antonio, Texas; great-niece: Larissa Brewster; great-nephew: Cole Brewster, Kendall Smith (Taijah), Ethen Bailey and Micah Bailey; great-great nieces: Aya Smith and Nevaeh Brewster; great-great nephew: Nehemiah Brewster and numerous cousin.
