Ingleside – Gilbert R. Sanchez, Sr. passed away July 2, 2024. He was 83.

Gilbert was born in Taft, Texas on February 17, 1941 to Julia (Rodriguez) and Angel Sanchez. He was a loving, father, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his son: Ricky Sanchez; granddaughter: Christi Sanchez; parents: Angel and Julia Sanchez; brothers: Manuel Sanchez and Ruben Sanchez.

Survivors include his sons: Gilbert Sanchez, Jr. (Michelle) from Corpus Christi, Texas, David Sanchez (Tina) and Jessie Sanchez all from Gregory, Texas; daughter: Gloria Hernandez (Richard) from Ingleside, Texas; 20 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; brother: Guadalupe Sanchez (Eloisa) from Corpus Christi, Texas; sister: Angie Maldonado (Santos) from Taft, Texas.

Visitation will begin Friday, July 12, 2024, 9:00 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same morning, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 12, 2024, 1:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft.
