Sinton- Gilberto “La Ratita” Castillo passed away December 18, 2024. He was 69.

La Ratita was born December 3, 1955 in Taft, Texas to Olga (Gonzales) and Bernardo Castillo.  He loved to sing and spend time with his family. La Ratita will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death are his parents: Bernardo and Olga Castillo; and niece: Alma Marie Castillo.

Survivors include his son: Adolfo “Chubby” Castillo (Bryanne Hamilton) from Taft, Texas; daughters: Jennifer Castillo and Lucinda Castillo both from Sinton, Texas and Felicita Castillo Delcambre (Kevin) from Katy, Texas; grandchildren: Brittany Montez, Ramiro Castillo, Jimmy Castillo, Samantha Ochoa, Jeremiah Castillo, Isaiah Castillo, Gabriel Castillo, Miahlina Downing, Jonathan Lopez, Mitchell Martinez, Minka Martinez and Jenavieve Castillo; great-grandchildren: Jimmy Castillo, Jr. and Leia Castillo; brother: Bernardo Castillo, Jr. (Josie) from California, Ernest Castillo from San Antonio, Texas, Robert Castillo, Richard Castillo (Sylvia), Albert Castillo, Johnny Castillo (Cyndy Ledezma) and Raul Castillo all from Corpus Christi, Texas; and sisters: Yolanda Castillo (Octavio Ortiz) from Orange Grove, Texas and Esmeralda Castillo (Roy Guerra) from Corpus Christi, Texas.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Chapel Service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024, 3:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton.
