Glen Gould Obituary

Glen Ray Gould passed away in Rockport, TX, after a courageous battle with cancer on October 19, 2023 at the age of 76. He was born on August 2, 1947 to Harold and Ellen Gould in Woodward, OK.  In Woodward, Glen joined the Boy Scouts of America, eventually making Eagle Scout and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow.  He received a bachelor’s degree from Northwest Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK double majoring in Science and Chemistry. After his Marine Corps service during the Vietnam war, he completed a master’s degree in Biology/Fisheries Management. Glen’s career is best described in his own words: “All of my positions have been dealing with environmental efforts and issues. These have included biological studies, compliance, providing input on river project designs, planning efforts, and even public relations to a certain degree. I also provided input for other efforts and anything else that catches my interest and I can get away with working on.”

Glen shared his passion for the outdoors, leading Tony’s scout troop and his entire family in the sport of archery.  He had a mean volleyball serve, played pool, snooker, bowled, hunted and fished. Glenn had an uncanny ability to find happiness in the simplest daily activities and was quick with a smile.

He was greatly loved and will be profoundly missed.

Glen was proceeded in death by his parents: Harold and Ellen McBride Gould; siblings: Jim Gould, Ed Gould, and Ann Gould Weathers; in-laws: Noce and Betty Evans; sister-in-law: Donna Evans Baird.

Glen is survived by his wife: Elizabeth “Jean” Gould; son: Anthony “Tony” Gould; in-law siblings: Carita Kee Gould, Gary Evans (Becky), Betty Evans Munsell (Dick), Christopher Evans (Maria), as well as several nieces and nephews.
