Henry Lee Work Obituary
Henry Lee Work went to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the age of 55. Henry was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 7, 1971. He graduated from Calallen High School in 1990. Henry truly loved life. He embraced each day with a generous heart, a sense of humor, and an appreciation for the people who made his life meaningful.
Henry had a special love for the people closest to him and cherished the time he spent with his longtime partner, Tamara Moehr. Together they enjoyed traveling, cruising, spending time with family and friends, gathering around a BBQ pit, sharing stories, and simply making memories. Henry had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, and those who knew him will remember his laughter, his stories, his adventurous spirit, and his genuine enjoyment of life.
Henry was also deeply proud of his 24 years of dedicated employment with Helmerich & Payne, Inc. During his career, he built many lasting friendships and became a valued part of the lives of the people he worked alongside. In his final years with the company, Henry served as an HSE Field Representative, where he was an integral part of the team. His coworkers and friends at Helmerich & Payne will greatly miss his friendship, dedication, and the presence he brought to their team.
Above all else, Henry cherished his daughters, Kaylee and Kaycee Work. They were among the greatest joys and proudest accomplishments of his life. His love for his daughters was unwavering.
He is preceded in death by his father and stepmother, A.L. & Karen Work, and his sister, Kitten Work.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kay & Ray Ready with whom he had an extra special relationship; his daughters, Kaylee and Kaycee Work; A step-sister, Yvette Maddox(Marty); his nephews, Micheal (Kimberly) Scott, Jonathan Murphey Jr. (Miroslava); his partner, Tamara Moehr; and her daughters, Chelsea O’Neal (Raymond), Hailey Bland (Justin), and Tiffany Moehr; many nieces and nephews, and countless lifelong friends, especially Larry Smith (Toad) with whom Henry spoke daily.
Though Henry is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share a chapter of life with him. He leaves behind not only cherished memories, but a legacy of love, friendship, laughter, dedication, and a reminder to embrace life while we have the opportunity.
