Irma F. Tamez

Taft – Irma F. Tamez passed away on January 12, 2021. She was 83.

Irma was born on January 19, 1937 in Lyford, Texas to Adan and Felipa (Laso) Franco. She was a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas. Irma was a migrant worker in the shrimp industry; custodian at Taft Hospital and a home health provider. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Alberto Tamez; son: Mario Tamez; mother: Felipa Esquivel.

Survivors include her sons: Albert Tamez, Jr.; Ruben Tamez (Norma); Ernest Tamez; David Tamez all of Taft, Texas and Danny Tamez (Delma) of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters: Norma Lopez and Nancy Rodriguez (Rene) all of Taft, Texas; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother: Jose Esquivel of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters: Maria Franco, Gloria Villarreal, Delia Sanchez all of Corpus Christi, Texas and Eve Goodman of Columbus, Georgia.

Visitation will begin Friday, January 15, 2020, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 16, 2020, 1:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Lamas Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
