Janie Hernandez Chupe went to her eternal rest Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the age of 86. She retired from Aransas Pass ISD where she worked as a baker. Her greatest joy was being able to see the young people she met in the lunch line grow into successful young men and women.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Urban Chupe, grandson Elijah Chupe and great-grandson Remington Kline.

Janie is survived by her son: Urban John (Kathleen) Chupe of Corpus Christi, Texas; and daughter: Anna Chupe of Rockport, Texas. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Jonas (Caitlin) Chupe of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sara Chupe of Rockwall Texas, and Darwin Kline of Rockport, Texas; and great-grandson: Brody Chupe of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same morning, 10:30 AM, with Christian Rites to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow, 1:00 PM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Avir Nursing Facility and Aadi Hospice Care for the care and compassion that was given.
