Taft – Jesus “Chuy” Valderrama passed away July 1, 2024. He was 87.

Chuy was born in Taft, Texas on May 15, 1937 to Mr. Dolores Valderrama and Manuela (Martinez). He was a loving, father, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend who was always ready to help anyone in need. Chuey had a great sense of humor. He was a person that was very easy to get along with and had many friends. Chuy loved doing yard work and taking care of his goats in his earlier years. He will always be remembered for his love of music, especially Vicente Fernandez songs.

Chuy is preceded in death by his son: Roman Valderrama; parents: Dolores and Manuela Valderrama; siblings: Tomasa Mendoza, Celia Lopez, Jose Valderrama and Juan Valderrama.

Survivors include his children: Rene Valderrama and Rogelio Valderrama; sister: Maria Valderrama Sanchez; 4 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 5, 2024, 9:00 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited the same morning, 9:30 AM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 5, 2024, 12:00 noon at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Lamas Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
