Jesus Lujan Quezada Obituary

Jesus Lujan Quezada passed away peacefully at his home in Taft on September 10, 2026. He was 81.

Jesus was born on October 16, 1944 in Mexico. He was a lifelong resident of Taft and dedicated more than 40 years of his life to working as a grain operator for Planters Co-op. Through his hard work and dedication, Jesus was a true provider who took great pride in caring for his family and making sure those he loved were always taken care of.

More than anything, Jesus cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and son whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. He had a simple way of enjoying life and making memories. He never passed up an opportunity to sit in the backyard, enjoy a good barbecue, share a laugh and reminisce about old times with family and friends.

Jesus was happiest when he was surrounded by his grandchildren. Their smiles, laughter, and time together meant the world to him. His love for his family was evident in the countless memories he created and the many lives he touched throughout his 81 years.

Jesus will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, generous heart, devotion to his family and the warmth he brought to every gathering. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through the family and friends who loved him and the many stories that will continue to be shared for generations to come.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Josephine C. Quezada.

He is survived by his children, Camilo Hernandez (Aracely) from Harlingen, Texas;  Caroline Ramirez, Christina Hernandez and Casilda Rivera, all from Taft, Texas; grandchildren, Jessie Rodriguez, Devin von Hernandez, Trenton Hernandez, Nicholas Reyes, Jesse Ramirez, Nellie Marie Reyes and Jorge Luis Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Devon Hernandez, Jr., Jessie Rodriguez, Jr., Fria Rodriguez and Kaden Michael Ramirez; sister, Socorro Quezada; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026, 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jesus leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, and family traditions that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
