Taft – Joe Lopez passed away September 7, 2021. He was 64.

Joe was born on June 15, 1957 in Sinton, Texas to Angel and Lily (Castillo) Lopez. He was a resident of Taft, Texas for most of his life. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Joe is preceded in death by his daughter: Kimberly Ann Lopez; parents: Angel and Lily Lopez; brothers: Jessie Lopez and Eseqiel Lopez.

Survivors include his wife: Sylvia A. Lopez from Taft, Texas; son: Juan Jose “Jay” Angel Lopez from San Antonio, Texas; daughter: Veronica Acosta (Rene Dominguez) from Portland, Texas; 9 grandchildren: Destiny Nicole Dominguez, Domonique Renee Dominguez, Zoey Alexandria Lopez, Jozlyn Alyssa Lopez, Makenzie Madison Lopez, Demetrio Manuel Angel Lopez, Hayden Renee Lopez, Joshua Jay Lopez and Averie Jo Lopez; 2 great-grandchildren: Skylair Brilyn Villalobos and Catalina Edelia Dominguez; brother: Victor Lopez from Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters: Rosalinda Martinez (Valentin) from Gregory, Texas, Virginia Yglesias (Ruben) from Corpus Christi, Texas and Natividad Berthelot (David) from Portland, Texas.

Visitation will begin Thursday, September 16, 2021, 8:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Taft. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held recited the same day, 10:30 AM at the church. The Funeral Mass will follow the same day, 11:00 AM the the church. Burial will be private.
