John Harrod Johnson

Aransas Pass – Ret. MSG, USMC John Harrod Johnson passed peacefully at home on March 31, 2022. He was born in Walla Walla, Washington on December 22, 1942, to John Norman and Fern Irene Gilbert Johnson. He was brother to Robert, Douglas, Waldo, Walter Darlene (m. Cox). He was father to Adam Salvati, Greg Salvati, Kimberly Salvati and Jennifer McKamy while being a stepfather to Eric Wilsey. Most of all he was a Loving husband to Wanda Johnson, who he married on December 12, 2003.

“Habu John” was a highly decorated Marine after joining during the Vietnam War in 1962, including 3 Purple Hearts. He retired in 1992 and continued to serve faithfully through volunteer work and held multiple chair positions for the VFW and Moose Lodge and he was a good friend to many.
