John Edward Weeks, 61, of Aransas Pass, Texas peacefully passed away on October 5, 2024.

Edward was proceeded in death by his parents: Janie and Samuel Moreno and Farren Weeks, Sr.; siblings: Sabrina Moreno, Sammy Moreno, Roland Weeks and Ronnie Weeks; and great nephew: Lucius Weeks.

Edward is survived by his wife: Karen Weeks; son: Johnny Weeks (Alyssa) of Virgina Beach, VA; daughters: Danielle Weeks (Robert) of Aransas Pass, TX, Shannon Cannada (Billy) of Greer, SC and Samantha Jones (Jesse) of Brighton, TN; siblings: Farren Weeks (Tammy) of Killeen, TX, Veronica Pavia (Rocky), Samantha Rossell (Michael) of LaBelle, TX, Cricket LeBlanc (Jason Duhon) of Fannett, TX, Kris Weeks of Newport News, VA and Robert Weeks (Neva) of Ingleside, TX; his grandchildren: Kloey Cantu, A.J. Davis, Penelope, Charlotte and Wade Cannada; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Edward spent most of his life commercial fishing.  He started as a young boy shrimping with his dad in the Gulf of Mexico. Later he became Captain of a shrimp boat working in the Gulf of Mexico.  Years later he made the move to Virgina, where he operated several scallop boats in Newport News and Seaford, Virgina and New Bedford, Massachusetts. He cherished the many years he spent working alongside his brother, Ronnie.

Edward had a huge heart.  He loved his family dearly. He loved to watch World News, and he loved his Dr. Pepper.

Edward will be cherished forever and greatly missed. The family gratefully acknowledges and deeply appreciates all the kind expressions of sympathy.

Visitation will begin Saturday, October 12, 2024, 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass. Memorial Service will be held the same evening at 3:00 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date.
