John Anthony Hinojosa Obituary

With deepest sorrow, we announce that John Anthony Hinojosa, our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed suddenly on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.  He was a lifelong resident of Taft and proudly served in the United States Army.  John Anthony peacefully left this world for a better place. He was a joyous blessing to Alma and Johnny and the entire family on April 26, 1974.  From the beginning, he encountered challenges that could overwhelm even the strongest of us, but he was no ordinary boy. John Anthony defied the odds repeatedly.  His laughter was large, silly, and sweet, spreading warmth and drawing laughter from all around him.  Despite all the challenges he faced, he never lost his spirit. Though his time with us was short, the impact of his life endures. He taught us that love and perseverance can overcome many of life's obstacles. Those who knew him, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.  If love could have saved him, John Anthony would have lived forever.

Preceding him in death are his father: Johnny Hinojosa; grandparents: Jesus and Sulema Aparicio; Gregorio and Herminia Hinojosa, uncles Ricardo Hinojosa and Alfredo Hinojosa.

Survivors include his son: John Anthony Hinojosa, Jr.; daughters: Jordan Hinojosa, Bella Hinojosa and Adriana Maria Estrada; mother: Alma Moreno and stepfather Jose Reynaldo Moreno; brothers: Nathan Gregory Hinojosa, Joseph Bryan Moreno, Javier Hinojosa, Jose Reynaldo Moreno, Jr. and Reuben Moreno; sisters: Rachel Rae Moreno, Jennifer Hinojosa and Lou Sunshine Hinojosa.

We know John Anthony is now with his father Johnny Hinojosa, grandparents, and uncles and is loved here on earth as well as in heaven.

As we say, "farewell for now," we tightly embrace the memories of his laughter and the warmth of his love. If the only measure of a human's life was time, it would seem short, but when measured in memorable moments and love, his was infinite.  We love you John Anthony, forever and always.
