Portland – Jose Louis Flores passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 66.

Jose was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved being out by the water fishing, listening to music that lifted his spirit, and enjoying a good meal or something sweet. More than anything, Jose loved his family. His greatest happiness came from spending time with his children and grandchildren, who meant the world to him.

Jose had a personality that could light up any room. He was funny, always joking, and his laugh was unforgettable — contagious, warm, and comforting to everyone around him. He had a way of making people feel welcomed and loved, and his presence brought people together. He was truly the heart and glue of his family, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evangelina Flores; son, Juan Pruneda; parents, SanJuan Martinez Flores and Manuela Juanita Sandoval; and siblings, Juan Flores, Jr. and Bobby Flowers, Reynaldo Flores and Maria Guardiola. 

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Jose Flores, Jr. of Waco; daughters, Connie Brown (Justin) of Ingleside and Patty Perez of Dayton; grandchildren, Olivia Martin, Jeremiah Alvarado, Ruben Perez, Randy Perez, Roland Perez, Raydell Perez, Cynthia Perez, and Rudy Perez; brothers, Henery Flores of Oklahoma and Ernest Flowers of Port Lavaca; sisters, Angie Lopez (Jimmy) of Ingleside, Minerva Posas (Manuel) of Corpus Christi, and Amanda Flowers of Aransas Pass; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Though Jose is no longer with us, the love, laughter, and memories he shared will continue to live on through everyone who was blessed to know him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Aransas Pass. A Funeral Service will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
