Jose Guadalupe Aranda, affectionately known as “Lupito” and/or “Badleg,” went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2025. Formerly of Taft, Lupito, 57, resided in San Antonio, Texas. 

Born on May 14, 1968 in Taft, Texas, Lupito was the beloved son of Carmen (Perez) and Marcelino Aranda. He lived a life marked by kindness, humility and a deep commitment to serving others. With a heart full of compassion, Lupito was always ready to lend a helping hand whether to family, friends, neighbors or strangers. His generosity and gentle spirit touched many lives. He also enjoyed giving everyone funny nicknames.  

Lupito found joy in his faith and was devoted to his church and church family. He worked diligently in landscaping—mowing lawns, trimming trees and maintaining yards with pride and care. Outside of his side work, he was a passionate sports fan who cheered faithfully for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Cowboys.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Lupito is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino and Carmen Aranda; and siblings Martin “Colonel” Aranda, Juan P. Aranda, Ramon Aranda, Elma Aranda, Rumaldo Aranda and Sammy Aranda.

He is survived by his sisters: Maria Eva Rodriguez (Jose) from Ganado, Texas and Elva “Elvie” Reyes from Schertz, Texas; brothers Felipe Aranda and Randy Aranda from San Antonio, Texas; Joe Aranda (Alma) from Corpus Christi, Texas; and Cruz Aranda (Lydia) from Sinton, Texas. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. A funeral service will follow, 3:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Jake Hulsey of Woodlake Baptist Church from San Antonio. Services will conclude at 5:00 PM.

Visitation will begin Sunday, November 2, 2023, 10:00 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. The Funeral Service will be held the same afternoon, 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jake Hulsey officiating. The family will conclude all services at 5:00 PM.
