Josefina "Josie" Castillo Davila

Portland – Josefina “Josie” Castillo Davila passed away peacefully on July 24, 2020 with her loving family at her side. She was 70.

Josie was born on January 24, 1950 in Taft, Texas to Amador and Elidia (Martinez) Castillo. She was a resident of Portland for 15 years and former resident of Gregory. Josie was a homemaker. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding in death is her spouse: Manuel Davila; a grandson: Gabby Ochoa, Jr.; parents: Amador and Elidia Castillo; brothers: Julio Castillo and Eluterio Castillo; sister: Lupe Pena; and her twin brother.

Survivors include her sons: Danny Davila (Sandra); Manuel Davila, both of Gregory, Texas; Raul Davila (Amanda) of Portland, Texas; daughters: Gloria Ochoa (Gabby); Mary Ann Ochoa (Rene), both of Portland, Texas; Lorie Trevino (Michael Adame) of Ingleside, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers: Manuel Castillo, Sone Castillo and Reynaldo Castillo; sisters: Teresa Moya and Elvia Gonzales, all of Taft, Texas; Janie Martinez of Ingleside, Texas; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be will be Thursday, July 30, 2020, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Gregory. Interment will follow in Gregory Cemetery, Gregory.
