Refugio – Josephine Reyna passed away on July 30, 2025, 2025. She was 87.

Josephine was born October 21, 1937 in Refugio, Texas to Flavia (Vasquez) and Enocencio Guerra. She was a strong opinionated woman. Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding in death are her husband: Richard T. Reyna; parents: Enocencio and Flavia Guerra; and siblings: Richard T. Reyna, Jr., Adevino Guerra, Agapito Guerra, Andrea Guevara and Manuela Guerra.

Survivors include her sons: Rene Reyna (Irene) from Refugio, Texas and Rodney Reyna (Sophia) from Luling, Texas; daughters: Linda Vela (Vicente) from Refugio, Texas and Melinda Wescott (Dale) from Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren: Emily Carter (Russell) from Shallowwater, Texas, Rusell Howe (Monica) from Ingleside, Texas, Dennis Horton (Mary) from Corpus Christi, Texas, Corey Horton (Alexcia) from Corpus Christi, Texas, Leslie Garza (Robert Aguirre) from Austin, Texas, Sandy Ebrahimi (Omid) from Beeville, Texas, Richard Reyna from Refugio, Texas, Crystal Corpus from Lockhart, Texas, Jordan Botello from San Marcos, Texas, and Kelsey Reyna (Mario Borrego) from San Marcos, Texas; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers: Joe Guerra from Refugio, Texas and Luis Guerra from Ft. Worth, Texas; sisters: Sophia Rodriguez (Manuel) from Refugio, Texas, Severa Garcia from Arlington, Texas, Lucy Hernandez from Aransas Pass, Texas and Mary Barraza from Refugio, Texas.

The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited on August 13th at St. James Catholic Church, Refugio, Texas at 9:30 AM, with Funeral Mass being celebrated at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Refugio.
