Juan DeLeon Chapa

St. Paul – Juan DeLeon Chapa passed away on March 18, 2024.  He was 69.

Juan was born June 12, 1954 in Sinton, Texas to Guadalupe (DeLeon) and Hilario Chapa. He was a resident of St. Paul, Texas since 2002.  Juan loved fishing and woodwork. His handy work is displayed in many houses that he built. Juan was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is preceded in death by parents: Guadalupe and Hilario Chapa; brother: Alcario Chapa; In-laws: George Z. and Blaza Gonzales.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years: Guadalupe Gonzales from St. Paul, Texas; son: Juan Chapa, Jr. (Leti) from St. Paul, Texas; grandchild: Gabriela Pilar Chapa; brothers: Hilario Chapa (Grace) from Sinton, Texas; Jesse Chapa from St. Paul, Texas; sisters: Delia Welch (David) and Diana Ruiz (Carlos) both from Austin, Texas;  Dalia Lopez (Robert) from Waco, Texas; sisters-in-law: Gloria Garza and Janie Conn (Michael) both from Sinton, Texas: brothers-in-law: Harvey Gonzales and Joe B. Gonzalez both from Sinton, Texas; Gabriel Gonzales from San Antonio, Texas;

Visitation will begin Monday, March 25, 2024, 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church Sinton, Texas. Interment will follow in John J Welder Memorial Cemetery, St. Paul.

Pallbearers will be George H. Gonzalez, Rick DeLeon, Javier Gonzales, Robert Lee Garza, Jesse Tovar and David Welch.

Honorary pallbearer: Chris Ramirez.
