Juanita L. Cortinas

Gregory – Juanita L. Cortinas passed away peacefully on August 22, 2020. She was 91.

Juanita was born on March 7, 1929 in Gregory, Texas to Eleno and Maria (Gonzales) Lara. She was a lifelong resident of Gregory. Juanita was a homemaker. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding in death are her husband: Adan Cortinas; great-granddaughter: Jazmin Jane; parents: Eleno and Maria Lara; granddaughters-in-law: Mindi Vasquez and Christina Gonzalez.

Survivors include a daughter: Dahlia Cortinas-Hellinger (Donald) from Pearland, Texas; 4 grandchildren: Roland Vasquez Jr.; Kristen Vasquez Greenwood (Paris); Adam Gonzalez; Felicia Hernandez (Emmanuel); 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild: Christina Rodriguez “La Princess”; brother: Juan Lara (Dolores) from Rockport, Texas; sister: Alicia Claudio (Gabriel) from Gregory, Texas; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will begin Friday, August 28, 2020, 10:00 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Aransas Pass. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same afternoon, 1:30 PM at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will follow, 2:30 PM, Gregory Cemetery in Gregory.
