Juanita "Janie" Redden

Aransas Pass – Juanita "Janie" Redden passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on November 1, 1950, in Portland, Texas, Janie was one of six children born to Roy and Aurora "Dora" Hall. She spent most of her life in the Coastal Bend and, during her final years, made her home in Aransas Pass with her daughter, Emily, while courageously battling cancer. For more than a decade, Janie faced her illness with remarkable strength, determination, and grace, never allowing it to diminish her love for life or the people she cherished.

To know Janie was to love her. She was a force to be reckoned with—quick-witted, fiercely independent, and wonderfully sassy. Her infectious sense of humor and vibrant personality could brighten any room, and she had a way of making everyone she met feel like they had known her forever. She spoke her mind without hesitation, loved fiercely, and gave her whole heart to those fortunate enough to be part of her life.

Family was the center of Janie's world and the greatest joy of her life. She was a devoted mother, proud grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. Her love extended far beyond blood relations. Thanks to her welcoming heart and unwavering kindness, countless friends became "adopted" children and grandchildren. To so many, she wasn't just Janie—she was simply "Nana."

A retired registered nurse, Janie dedicated her life to caring for others. Her compassion reached beyond her profession as she lovingly cared for her mother, her stepfather, and later her husband, Ronald, during their final days. Caring for others wasn't just something she did—it was who she was.

Janie found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved dancing, playing pool, and taking long drives. More than anything, she loved gathering the people she cared about around her table. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday, and no matter how crowded her home became, there was always room for one more. No one ever left her house hungry, empty-handed, or without feeling loved. Her home was a place of laughter, comfort, and belonging.

Janie is survived by the love of her life, Dennis Babb; her beloved children, Emily and Carlos; her cherished grandchildren, Gina, D.J. (Aundrea), Aaron (Alexandria), Erique, and Briana; her treasured great-grandchildren, Lucius, Nate, Darius, Mikey, Raelynn, Chase, Aaron Jr., Easton, and Phillip; her sister, Christina "Chris"; her brother, Richard; and many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Aurora Hall; her stepfather, Roy Hall Sr.; her husband, Ronald Redden; her sister, Dora "Dean"; her brothers, John (Laura) and Roy Jr. (Emilia); and her beloved great-grandson, Damian.

Though her family is heartbroken by her passing, they find comfort in knowing that her legacy of unconditional love, laughter, generosity, and fierce devotion to family will live on in the countless lives she touched. She leaves behind memories that will forever be cherished and a love that time can never erase.
