Katherine Elizabeth Matheson

Ingleside - Katherine Elizabeth Matheson passed away March 11, 2018.  She was 77.

Katherine was born August 3, 1940 in Cape May, New Jersey to Katherine S. Shaw and Harry Allen Kehr. She traveled to Texas with her mother and spent many years in San Antonio, Texas.  She later moved to Charleston, South Carolina with her husband, James Moore, who was stationed at Charleston Air force base for 11 years. They had two children, Derek Moore and Tracy Moore. Upon James’ retirement, they moved to Ingleside, Texas.

Katherine divorced, and later met and married William Matheson in Ingleside, Texas. She loved him dearly until his passing. Katherine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include two daughters: Dany’ Vieau (Gary) of South Carolina and Tracy Moore of Texas; a son: Derek Moore (Melissa) of Aransas Pass, Texas; 6 grandchildren: Katie Vieau and Taylor Vieau, both of South Carolina, Brandon Fahrenthold and Skylar Fahrenthold, both of Texas, Layne Moore and Trent Webber, both of Texas; 3 great-grandchildren: Kallie Taylor of North Carolina, Kendall Fahrenthold of Texas, Beaux Moore of Texas.; a sister: Wanda Lynn Benavides (Gilbert) of Texas; and a brother: Skip Kehr (Masae) of New Jersey.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 16, 2018, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Ingleside United Methodist Church in Ingleside. A funeral service will be held the same afternoon, 2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Prairie View Cemetery, Aransas Pass.
