Odem– Larry David Wilkerson passed away on November 27, 2024. He was 80.

Larry was born on March 29, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Vila Mae (Venable) and Jerry David Wilkerson. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy having served this great country from 1962-1965 during the Vietnam era. Larry was awarded the “Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for Vietnam”, and was a diesel mechanic on the USS Topeka. Most recently, Larry retired as a welder from Koch Refinery in Corpus Christi and was the owner and operator of his own welding company.

Larry loved to tinker with things. He enjoyed his BBQ chicken quarters, was an avid fisherman and absolutely looked forward to taking his grandboys hunting in Papalote. He was proud that he taught them to hunt. Larry will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents: Jerry David and Vila Mae Wilkerson; and brother: Gary Wilkerson.

Survivors include the love of his life of 40 years Kathy Patterson; a daughter: Shalane Pinkerton (Kelly) from Robstown, Texas; sister: Doris Willingham (Marion) from Beeville, Texas; 2 grandchildren: Dakota Roe and Dalton Roe (Avery); nieces and nephews: Shelly Christano (Bob), Jerry Willingham and Jimmy Willingham (Michelle); great-nieces: Brooke Christano and Sarah Christano

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
