Lawrence A Zapalac, Jr.

August 13, 1935 ~ September 25, 2021 (age 86)


Lawrence A. Zapalac Jr. passed away on Saturday, September 25th, 2021, at the age of 86. He was born August 13th ,1935 to Lawrence A. Zapalac Sr.and Francis Josephine Frerichs in Orange Grove, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army from May 1957 to December 1962. He married Bobbie Karen Beverly in Sinton, Tx January 22nd, 1965, and was married for 49 years until widowed in December 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Robstown, TX.

Lawrence was a hard-working man for all his life as Water Well Driller for Welty Water Well Services in Robstown. He loved to hunt and fish and loved a good plate of fried fish. He was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a loving husband, father, Grampy, Uncle and brother and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Bobbie K. Zapalac, his parents, brother Charles Zapalac, brothers in law, Butch Kirkland, Albert Melnar; Sister-in-law, Terry Zapalac, and niece Rhonda Kirkland.

He is survived by his children, Beverly Gay Montgomery (James P. Montgomery) of Kingsville; Lawrence A. Trey Zapalac III (Christine Chapa Zapalac) of San Antonio; stepdaughter Diane Wren (Fiancé James Erskin) of Hubbard, TX; Grandchildren, Lawrence A. Lee Zapalac IV of San Antonio, Bryant Hawkins and Alyssa Wren of Hubbard, Tx; sisters Bobbie Kirkland of Houston, Marcia Melnar of Cat Spring, brother John (Wendy) Zapalac of Bishop; sister-in-law Shirley Zapalac of Robstown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services Wednesday, September 29th, 2021, at 2:00 pm.
