Aransas Pass – Lee Thomas Hurt passed away on June 28, 2026, at the age of 37.

Born on August 2, 1988, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Joan (Landwehr) and Larry Hurt, Lee lived life with a gentle spirit and an appreciation for the simple moments that brought him peace. Although Ohio was where his story began, Texas quickly became the place he proudly called home. He loved everything about the Lone Star State, but it was the beach that truly captured his heart. Whether he was sitting quietly in the sand listening to the waves, strolling along the shoreline, or enjoying the water, the beach was where he found comfort, peace, and a sense of belonging.

Lee had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to enjoy God's creation. He loved hiking, taking long walks, and staying active through weightlifting. Recently, Lee made one of the most meaningful decisions of his life by accepting Christ, becoming a member of the Aransas Pass Church of Christ, and being baptized. His faith brought him hope and peace that remained with him throughout his journey.

Above all else, Lee's greatest joy was his family. They were the heart of his life, and the moments spent laughing, talking, and simply being together were the ones he treasured most. He loved deeply and wholeheartedly, always offering kindness, compassion, and quiet strength to those around him. Lee's gentle nature, warm smile, and unwavering love will be remembered always. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone blessed to know him.

Lee was preceded in death by his father, Larry Hurt, and his grandfather, Tom Hurt.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Joan Hurt of Aransas Pass, Texas; his brother, Danny Hurt (Sarah) of Cincinnati, Ohio; his sister, Sherri Klenner (Jeffrey) of South Dakota; his beloved niece, Sophia Klenner; his cherished nephews, Brodie Hurt and Braden Hurt; as well as extended family and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

 A Memorial service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Aransas Pass Church of Christ.
