Leigh Ann Ray Obituary
Odem – Leigh Ann Ray passed away on June 28, 2024. She was 61.
Leigh Ann was born June 24, 1963 in Sinton, Texas to Joan (Pennington) and Kenneth Bosworth. She grew up in Odem and after a short time teaching in Calallen, Leigh Ann moved back to Odem where she and Bryan raised their 3 children. She held a variety of positions with OEISD including Pre-K teacher, high school teacher, track and cross-country coach, pool manager and lifeguard, bus driver and most importantly a great example of a compassionate caring person to all. Leigh Ann met her husband, William Brayn Ray, on the Frio Rio while vacationing with her family in 1982. They dated for two years and were married in Portland on July 14, 1984. After retiring from her teaching/coaching duties her and Bryan moved to “The Ranch” in Skidmore. There Leigh Ann stayed busy with her countless projects which she enjoyed so much, including rebuilding an old farmhouse where her father lived, and was cared for nestled between his two daughters. Leigh Ann was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ in Odem and truly loved her family there. She was a pure example of a virtuous woman as described in Proverbs 31:10-30. Her compassion and love for her friends and family guided her daily life as she would relentlessly help others before herself. She would do anything to help someone in need. Leigh Ann will be dearly missed by her family, friends and community.
Preceding in death are her parents: Kenneth and Joan Bosworth.
Survivors include her husband: Bryan Ray; children: Katy Ray (James) and Jake Ray both from Austin, Texas and Oliver Ray from Oxford, England.
