Lonnie Joe Johnson

Lonnie Joe Johnson, beloved husband and father, entered into heavenly rest on December 28, 2019.

Lonnie was born in Overton, TX, on September 28, 1934 to Harlon Othel Johnson and Nora Ruth Dodds Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth McCann Johnson and his son, Damon Kyle Johnson; brothers-in-law, Jimmy McCann, Eddy McCann, and his wife Patti, nephews; Larry McCann, Keith McCann, Jimmy Brown, Kelly Brown; nieces Shirley Jean Brown, Amanda McCann, and Megan McCann; and his beloved cousin, Patricia Dodds Hollis.

Lonnie’s career was in oil-related business. He was a Drilling Field Engineer with Milchem Oil, Exxon offshore as a Drilling Technician for several years. He ended his career in Executive Sales with Milchem in Houston.

He was a member of the University church of Christ for about 20 years. He truly loved his brothers and sisters and continually prayed for them, as well as those of years gone by in Corpus Christi, the Houston area, West Monroe, LA, Spring, TC and Nashville, TN.
