Ingleside – Lucio Cantu Coronado passed away on July 1, 2024. He was 76.
Lucio was born in Taft, Texas on December 15, 1947 to Lilia (Cantu) and Juan Zavala Coronado. He was formerly employed by the City of Portland and the City of Corpus Christi in the Maintenance Department. He could do just about anything. Lucio also served as a volunteer Firefighter for the City of Gregory. He was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Lucio is preceded in death by his parents: Juan and Lilia Coronado; son-in-law: Chris Fricks; sisters: Jesusa Martinez and Maurelia Morales; and brother: Manuel Cuellar.
Survivors include his loving wife: Lupe Coronado from Gregory, Texas; son: Lucio Coronado, Jr. from Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters: Linda Fricks from Portland, Texas, Mary Lou Herrera (Ruperto) from Corpus Christi, Texas, Mary Ann Coronado (Leo Garcia) from Gregory, Texas, Lori Coronado (Lupe Castilleja) from Aransas Pass, Texas and Debbie Coronado from Ingleside, Texas; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers: Frank Coronado from Taft, Texas and Juan Coronado from Dallas, Texas; sister: Rosa Palacios from Corpus Christi, Texas; and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will begin Monday, July 8, 2024, 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gregory. Burial will follow in Gregory Cemetery.
